Create your Zombie-Apocalypse Survival Bug-Out Bag!

It is the last day of the A to Z Challenge. I decided to have a bit of fun. I had a zombiepalooza over at Cabin Goddess one year and we had a challenge and game about who could come up with the best bug-out bag.

This is for your bag, the one that is on your back, or at your side, or whatever. You have ONE hour to pack it and you have to follow the guidelines provided. (It looks like a lot but honestly it is fun, use no more than an hour just like the pack is one hour away and you know you have this time I was explicit as possible in directions)

Detail of a t-shit at iComix in Milan, ItalyYou can only pick one (unless it is noted otherwise such as with clothing and food) of EACH to pack, you have 30 minutes before you leave the house these are all available for you but again, only one from each bullet.)

HINT – Before you quickly decide, remember you have 30 minutes to decide and balance this out, many of these seem like just another choice for the same thing. If you use your 30 minutes right you may actually have a usable pack that can last till you find a safe place to restock.

CLOTHING

(you are already wearing a shirt, pants, under-clothing, socks, shoes and perhaps a hat or do-rag and over-shirt [flannel shirt, jean shirt, cardigan, wind breaker, hoodie or zipup sweatshirt or BDU top [NOT jacket]) NOW you get ONE EXTRA piece of clothing to grab.

  • three cans of beans
  • 2 lbs of rice w/ 1 lb of dried beans
  • 3 bottles of water

(Sure I mentioned the FIVE longest lasting but this is what you get in this quick prep when you don’t have a bug-out bag read!)

THE EXTRAS

  • Tarp OR wool blanket

What would you add to that, remember it has to be available to grab or be in your closet. It will not be something like a bazooka … nope not happening! This could be a game, if you are interested in playing and want a copy I have made a copy available on Google Docs.

OK SO … it is the final one! WOW… Z we made it! We will be posting once or twice a week from now on. From more fun survival tips, zombie book reviews, horror discussions, flash fiction etc. ENJOY!

    Congratulations on finishing the Challenge.

I hope I’ll never have to contend with making up a zombie apocalypse survival kit, but it sounds like how I used to pack for backpacking trips.
